What's Up With Escapism?

You might have realized I tend to work on VR titles that are a bit more immersive.

I grew up watching anime, but I also grew up reading visual novels. You know, the elaborate eroge hentai games where you read to get to the good stuff. Some of my favorite eroges include Shuffle!, Tsukihime, and Fate/Stay Night (which I read when it was first fan translated in English). Many others, however, include the really early English fan translations before the big Steam boom of visual novels and the international cultural acceptance of weeaboos. These titles include Wanko to Kurasou, Castle Fantasia 2, and Wind -a breath of heart.

I occasionally read visual novels here and there, but not as much. The latest one I read was Amatsutsumi, which I really enjoyed.

The one thing I love about "escapism" VR titles is that much of their experience and storylines manage to nail the storytelling and erotica of visual novels. The reason I'm blogging about this is because the latest VR title I'm working on reminds me of the experiences I've had reading visual novels.

Essentially, three girls confess their feelings to you on the same day. It starts off a bit wholesome and then starts treading into spicy territory soon afterwards.

I still think my two favorite escapism VR titles I've worked on are the Yui Nagase one and the Mitsuki Nagisa one. If you haven't seen them yet, I highly recommend them. They may change your perspective on "vanilla" VR scenes forever.
